SomnoGuard®
Prefabricated 1-part mandibular advancement device to treat snoring and obstructive sleep apnoea
SomnoGuard, quality made in Germany, is protected by the utility patent no. DE20 018 772 and the E.U. patent no. EP 1 203 570.
The development of SomnoGuard had been initiated by several years of clinical research with another prefabricated one-part oral predecessor appliance.
Our well-proven SomnoGuard has the following specific features:
- Easy fitting within minutes, preferably by physicians or their trained staff
- Clinical efficacy well proven by several clinical trials with success rates between 50 to 80% in reducing snoring and RDI (i.e. Respiratory Disturbance Index).
- Normally very well tolerated. Minor and temporary side effects refer mainly to hypersalivation and morning discomfort
- Average life of about one year
- The most cost-effective option to treat snoring and sleep apnoea

Tomed's mandibular advancement devices to treat primary snoring and obstructive sleep apnoea in adults are CE marked for unlimited distribution throughout the E.U. member states. Apart from the new SomnoGuard SP series all appliances are 510(k) cleared by the FDA in the U.S. under the clearance no. K061688. Preparation of the FDA application regarding the new SP series is now on its way.
