Custom-made two-part mandibular adjustable positioner
SomnoGuard AP Pro, quality made by Tomed in Germany, is protected by numerous international patents such as EP 1 838 259, US 7,757,693, AU 2005 312223 B2 and others.
The development of the custom-made mandibular advancement device SomnoGuard AP Pro and its stainless steel made components' technology is based on the preceding development of the SomnoGuard AP.
SomnoGuard AP Pro exhibits the following advantages most of which apply to the SomnoGuard AP too:
- Titratable advancement of the lower jaw from 0 to approx. 12 or more millimeters depending on the length of the adjusting screw used
- Limited lateral movement of the lower jaw
- Unrestricted mouth breathing if necessary
- Fixed and stable retention by deep teeth and jaw impressions
- Lightweight and durable construction
- Highly cost-effective in comparison to competitive dental appliances

Apart from the new SomnoGuard SP series all appliances are 510(k) cleared by the FDA in the U.S. under the clearance no. K061688. Preparation of the FDA application regarding the new SP series is now on its way.
